I ran in the Buddy's Race for Cancer today! I've never run this race before & I was surprisingly more emotional than I ever expected. There was a survivor walk before the race complete with bagpipes! Everyone had "In Loving Memory" & "In Celebration Of" signs on their backs - so sweet. There was also a moment of silence for everyone who has lost their battle before the race. I did a LOT better than I thought I was going to do, so I am excited for Boulevard Bolt in just a few days!! I def did not PR (personal record) it for a 5k, but I was happy with my time.
Sidenote: also SUPER excited about the costumes Steph & I will be wearing for Boulevard Bolt.
Pre-race festivities
Sweetest thing I have ever seen - may or may not have teared up a little.
This couple was probably 85 years old
Survivor Walk
This was the race route - it was an ugly race scenery wise.
LOVE the Nike+ app for my iPhone - 100% worth the $$
After the race, I met up with Kimsey & a bunch of camp friends at the Bean to celebrate & watch football - such a chill weekend!!
