GYM WEEK!

Sunday: Still in Memphis, pretty much took it easy & did a little walking - not sure of mileage

Monday: Went to the Y in Memphis - ran 3 miles & rode the spin bike for 30 minutes. Total: 3 miles

Tuesday: Back to my normal routine. I did not want to get up, but I knew that if I didn't, I would most definitely not do it after work. I did a fairly fast walk on the treadmill on an incline. Total: 2.20 miles

Wednesday: Pretty good run. This was my last week of 4 mile runs during the week (scary), but I felt pretty good during the whole thing. Total: 5.16 miles

Thursday: REST!

Friday: Pretty easy workout in preparation for my long run today. I rode the bike for 30 minutes & then walked on an incline. The gym was EMPTY except for the 2 lovely people on either side of me on the treadmill - No Deo girl & Smoker man, who was drinking COFFEE while on the TM... Total: 1.30 miles

Saturday: Long run day. Since I watch the Today show for 4 hours everyday, I knew that there was an 80% chance of rain & storms. I woke up at 7 to it storming like crazy. Uhh. 6 miles on the dreadmill. Went to a different Y for a change of scenery. I DL 2 episodes of RHNJ to watch while I was running & I definitely think it helped ;) My first 3 miles were awful, but felt better about the last 3. Total: 6.81 miles

My total for the month is 53 miles. It makes my OCD happy when my mileage is even.

Fit-nasty

Sunday: REST!

Back to work pretty much full-time this (last) week, so back to the gym at 6am. I really never thought I would be an early morning workout person, but I am. I hate when my alarm goes off, but I am so happy when I am walking out of the gym at 730am & am completely finished with my workout for the day. I probably wouldn't have stuck with it this long if I didn't go at 6am. Seriously. I'm so tired when I get off & I would always find an excuse not to go. I love morning workouts.

Monday: Speed workout AKA SPRINTS & recovery jog for 4 miles. Total: 4.55 miles

Tuesday: Easy run on an incline Total: 2.50 miles

Wednesday: Fast(ish) 4 mile run on the treadmill. Went to bed super early on Tuesday night, so I was seriously so refreshed. I had a GREAT run & was in a great mood for the rest of the day. Total: 5.18 miles

Thursday: REST! M&W went to NYC, so I stayed late with the kids.

Friday: Moved my 6 mile long run up to today since I was going out of town. I hadn't run 6 miles in probably 2 years, so I was proud of myself. It kind of snowed Thursday night & it was VERY cold. I think my coldest run yet. I wore 4 layers & had to take off the first layer within half a mile. Overall, it was pretty good - just very, very cold. I was so happy when it was over. Total: 6.50 miles

Saturday: REST! My legs hated me for spending so many hours in the car the day before. Yowza. I did some major foam rolling.

Weekly mileage: 18.73 miles

Monthly mileage: 34.53 miles

I should beat last month's total mileage, but if I don't - that's ok!

I wish I could be a better blogger, but I just can't. I could blog about work, but I don't want to bore you all every single day with all the cute things the babies do. The girls are TALKING like crazy - shoes, ball, hi, bye bye, momma, dada, & sometimes something that sounds a LOT like Abby :) 

I went to Memphis last weekend because I had a few days off! I hadn't been down since right before I moved, so it was lovely to see everyone. I had sleepovers with Chloe every night which she loved

Went to the Grizz game on Saturday night 



It happened to be on at the same time as this game, but thankfully I got to watch it.

Amy & I took Chloe to see Beauty & the Beast in 3d - Amy took me to see it when it originally came out & I was 4. Chloe is 4 now - so cool! 

That's about it around here - just working, trying to get back in the swing of things after Christmas break. I actually have a pretty full weekend, so maybe I will have something to post about. 

I will be doing a workout post from last week later (better late than never). Feel free to not read it.

Weekly Workout Round Up

This post is mostly for me to document my weekly workouts, so you definitely don't have to read it :) This was week 6 of training.

Sunday: REST

Monday: 3.5 mile run outside - 35:58. It was pretty cold, low to mid 30s. I wore my full length running tights, UA base layer & a LS tee. I forgot to wear gloves, but my hands were fine until I finished my run & was cooling down. They then felt like ICE. I won't forget my gloves again, I will tell you that. I walked 1.5 miles which I count into my total because walking is training, right? Total: 5 miles

Tuesday: Went to the gym before work & did 45 minutes of spin. I tried to take it easy, but I wanted to get a  good workout. I was definitely sweating - mostly steady climbs & speed work with recovery.

Wednesday: 3.5 mile run outside - 35:30. It was veryyy cold, like 22 degrees cold. I definitely remembered my gloves. I wore full length tights, base layer shirt, LS tee, & a pull over. I had to take my gloves off half way through. I walked 1.5 & almost busted it on some ice. Cute. Total: 5 miles

Thursday: REST

Friday: Went to the gym after I worked a half day with my beebees (pics to come) & did stairs for 40 minutes. I took it pretty easy because I wanted to have fresh legs for my long run. I was definitely sweating, but not pushing it.

Saturday: 5 mile run outside - 55 minutes. I did not want to run this morning. It was gloomy & sprinkling, but I went anyway. I didn't let myself do anything first, I just woke up & went running. Plus, I wanted to be back by 11 to watch the basketball game - WHICH WE WON- buh bye Gators! My legs felt like lead & there were TONS of people running. It was not my best run. I just took it easy & ran slow. The hills made me so angry today. Total: 5.70

I will definitely be doing speed work this week in preparation for a 6-miler on Friday before I head out of town for a long weekend!

Y'all, I can't even tell you how true this is. I saw the first video on KLG & Hoda (my pseudo bffs) a few weeks ago & laughed so hard. I now follow them on twitter & laugh every time.

2012

2011 wasn't a terrible year for me, but it was definitely an interesting one. The last several months of the year were definitely better than the first. 

Let's be honest, it is rare for someone to actually stick to their resolutions, so I will just have some goals that I would like to accomplish:

Run (at least) one half marathon 

Get more involved at Cokesbury 

Be a better friend 

Try new foods - I am so picky

& last, but not least...

Run a marathon - the full 26.2 on December 1st, 2012
I already have my training plan printed & ready to go. I've been running regularly (again) since mid-October & am well on my way to running the Knoxville half marathon. I ran 70 miles last month!! The most appealing thing about that half is finishing on the 50yd line at Neyland :)
